And a day is long no more,
Like a blink on swinging pendulum;
And a night becomes such strong
Evoking only odium.
And cold clasps all the blood,
So that the sun won"t melt the ice;
And trees stop rustling loud,
So motionless, with fading dyes.
The summer"s passing out,
It leaves us with a sorrow
That everything will die somehow,
We"ve got the life that"s borrowed.
And the rain is all around,
Builds walls of grieving water-drops;
And skies seem to fall down;
We"re wrapped by heavy pitch-dark fog.
And the world"s prepared for sleep;
It waits for lifeless days to come.
I"ve caught last flying leaf,
I"ll keep it till next summer run.
