The Short Story about the lack of free tickets
Having read up the book by I. Ermashov about Sun Yat-sen, the Readeress has gone to the professional place of librarian. There were some visitors. Someone has asked the Readeress: " The final pages of the book were devoted to what questions?"
- To the creation of the new army and the new officer corps, to the reorganization of Kuomintang, to the inclusion in the structure of Kuomintang of communists, to the development of cooperation with the Soviet Russia.
Not everyone could see as far, as Sun Yat-sen saw.
"It was difficult to carry out reorganization. In Kuomintang not everyone supported such a reorganization. Many old associates of Sun Wen [Sun Yat-sen] in every way opposed to centralization of the management and establishment of cast-iron discipline in party. Even more "veterans" absolutely rejected policy of the union with the Communist Party of China and close cooperation with the Soviet Union."
At some point, the prospect of convening a national Assembly in Beijing arose.
As I. Ermashov writes, Sun Yat-sen was already seriously sick during this period.
And this period, perhaps, can be called the final period of his life. Like the earlier periods of Sun Yat-sen's life, these months, days, weeks showed his devotion to China, to the Chinese people. In the book by I. Ermashov the modesty and unselfishness of Sun Yat-sen are noted.
"Whether it is worth going to Beijing now? Whether it is better to wait until the situation becomes clear completely? No, time can not wait. The message about preparation of convocation of National assembly with huge enthusiasm has been met by the whole country. He have made the decision to leave to Tianjin, but along a little unusual route: Shanghai - Nagasaki - Tianjin: no free tickets for direct flights .
In Japan the authorities have given him a cold reception. It was easy to understand that it is result of frauds of Duan. Sun Wen [Sun Yat-sen] have even not glanced in Tokyo. He have stayed in Nagasaki, Modzi, Osaka where the steamship by which he followed to Tianjin unloaded."
"Sun Wen [Sun Yat-sen] knew that he should fulfill some obligations ..."
"On February 24 the doctor declared that position of the patient quickly worsens and his life will be prolonged only some more days."
In the biography are described:
His will to the son.
His will to Kuomintang.
His appeal to the Central Executive Committee of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
"To his own son, Sun Fo..., he has told that, dying, he doesn't give any personal property, and that if after him there was at least one cent, he would consider himself the villain, for whom revolution - one entertainment. "I leave behind myself the work - Sun Wen [Sun Yat-sen] have told - which is the general property of the party". In the will he have written that, having devoted all life only to service to the people, he had no opportunity to create to himself private means, personal wealth."
In his will to Kuomintang, he wrote, in particular: "... the Revolution is not yet complete. To bring it to the end, my like-minded people should continue to act vigorously, guided by the "Plan of state construction", "General program of state construction", "Three national principles", as well as "Manifesto of the First all-China Congress"...".
Also the last appeal to the Soviet Union has been made:
"... I bequeath to Kuomintang to continue work in the field of national revolutionary movement that China could dump from itself a yoke, a position of the semi-colonial country, which were created by imperialists. For the sake of this purpose I have enjoined my party and from now on to strengthen cooperation with you. I am deeply convinced, that your government will be as before to help my state.
... The time will come when the Soviet Union, as the best friend and ally, will welcome a powerful and free China, when in the great battle for the freedom of the oppressed Nations of the world both countries will go hand in hand and achieve victory.'
In the book there are illustrations: for example, there is a photo of the hieroglyphs, which Sun Yat-sen wrote personally.
Visitors of library have surrounded the Readeress and silently, with respect, have looked at the page of the book.
The Readeress has transferred the book to Gorky. Gorky has put the book on the top shelf, - so that all have seen a portrait of Sun Yat-sen, - and have said: "The Great man!"
Readers respectfully have looked at the portrait.
The question from one of visitors of library was heard:
